Matrix Earning System
A predictable, easy-to-manage network structure with fixed width and depth.

Have a question on your mind?
Matrix Earning System
The Matrix earning system is one where the number of new members a person can bring in, and the resulting depth limits, are defined from the start. Its length and width are fixed. It resembles a pyramid where members are arranged in a set pattern, which means earnings are limited rather than unlimited. Any new sign-up beyond the defined number is placed under a different member, and any sale or new member added beyond the defined depth doesn't generate commission for that person. Because the plan's limits are clearly defined, it's easy to understand and implement.
For example, in a 5x8 system, a person can add at most 5 new members and is entitled to commissions down to the 8th depth level, with no earnings from anything beyond that level. The most commonly used examples are the 5x8, 3x9, and 2x12 systems. Each company can define its own model.
The plan starts by adding the first members to the first level, and once that level is filled, each person you register enrolls into the next level — or, depending on the plan, possibly the level after that.
Matrix Compensation Plan Bonuses
A number of bonuses are defined and applied to increase participation in the system and to motivate members.
- Sponsor Bonus: The network company defines a sponsor bonus to encourage existing members to add new members. It's earned once the first level is filled. For example, if a 2x12 model is used, a person earns this bonus once they've added 2 people beneath themselves.
- Matching Bonus: The matching bonus is a commission paid to an upline member. Whenever a downline member earns any bonus, a percentage commission is also given to the member one level up, as an incentive. The definition of this bonus varies by company.
- Rank Bonus: This varies depending on the plan applied in the system. For example, if a 3x9 plan is used and the upline member adds 3 people, and one of those 3 also adds 3 people beneath themselves, the original member earns a rank bonus commission. It's a bonus earned when a member and the level beneath them together complete a horizontal row of the tree.
- Position Bonus: Another bonus type that varies based on the defined system. For example, in a 3x3 system, when the upline member has already added 3 people and wants to add a 4th, that 4th person is placed beneath one of the existing 3 people at the next level down. In this case, the member who added the 4th person earns a position bonus. This bonus system increases the motivation of a member who has already reached the maximum number of direct sign-ups to keep adding new members.
- Matrix Bonus: This bonus is given to members who complete the compensation structure. For example, if a 4x4 plan is in use, every member who completes the 4th level in both depth and width receives this bonus commission.
